application disappears at install

score-reading-trainer (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Attempted to install Score Reading Trainer
on a 64-bit Ubuntu Hardy PC via synaptic. Install appeared
to happen normally, but upon apparent successful
completion (and closing out of synaptic), the
application is no where to be found on any
menu (would expect to see it in the education
menu.)

Edubuntu add-on is also already installed (just
in case that might be relevant.)

If it was install correctly must be somewhere in you machine. Please look for this in this way:
sudo updatedb
sudo locate score-reading-trainer

If you find something, you are now pretty sure that is installed.

f you wanna run it, you must run in terminal:

anakron@udec:~# ScoreReadingTrainer

If it doesnt work, look for more in : http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=338674

I hope you will solve your problem

Bye

Thanks for the workaround. It worked, but with the
following error messages. However, the program
did run.

I appreciate the workaround, but the bug remains
nevertheless. Clearly, it should appear in a menu
at the completion of install (especially when installed
through synaptic.)

I was able to duplicate the bug on a 64-bit Hardy
Ubuntu desktop machine, too.

Can this be forwarded upstream for fixing? I would
hate for a non-techie music teacher to install this as
a teaching too and have the same thing happen.

The output in the terminal for me is as follows:

user@ACERLAPTOP:~$ score-reading-trainer
kbuildsycoca running...
Reusing existing ksycoca
kbuildsycoca: WARNING: Parse error in /home/user/.config/menus/applications-merged/xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu, line 1, col 1: unexpected end of file
kbuildsycoca: WARNING: Parse error in /home/user/.config/menus/applications-merged/xdg-desktop-menu-dummy.menu, line 1, col 1: unexpected end of file
user@ACERLAPTOP:~$

Thank you very much.
