no program crashes but I am not able to start scim so i can work with gujarati language in openoffice.org 3.2

Bug Description

Binary package hint: scim

I previously used scim input method in ubuntu 9.04 to type with gujarati phonetic keyboard

now it is not available after I installed ubuntu 10.10

I was creating following environment variables

export XMODIFIERS='@im=SCIM'
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim"
export XIM_PROGRAM="scim -d"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim"

after that I tried to start scim with command

scim -d

and I received the following error

Sorry for the delay in response.

scim might already be running. Do you still experience this issue? What version of Ubuntu and scim are you running now? scim has evolved a fair bit since 1.4.9 and it works well for me.
