2009-01-26 08:12:37 Michele Mangili scim: statusexplanation First, this is not a SCIM problem. The Arabic (Egypt) input method in SCIM seems to use a different keyboard layout than you have. Second, I cannot reproduce this bug. I can type Arabic just fine in any application by using the keyboard layout switcher. Even without the Arabic language support installed, I just added the Arabic - Default layout to the keyboard, started an application, switched to Arabic in the keyboard layout switcher applet and was able to type Arabic. My guess is that your system somehow got messed up. This bug report is being closed due to your last comment regarding this being fixed with an update. For future reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status in the yellow line and then choosing a new status in the revealed drop down box.
