Bug Description

system version:Ubuntu gutsy (development branch)
uname -a:
Linux feiy-laptop 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
gnome-terminal version:2.18.0-2ubuntu1

if u open a gnome terminal,in the first opened tab window of gnome-terminal,open another new tab window,and close the new tab window,the bug got! the first opened tab can't input any except u reactive the window(alt+tab switch to another window and switch back it,or minimize and maximize the gnome-terminal).

BTW:maybe the firefox has the same bug!

yes it happen,and it also happen with the xfce4!

marking unconfirmed the, you are the only one who opened a bug about that, that's likely something specific to your configuration, would be nice to know what or get a way to trigger the bug. Does firefox has the same bug, you "maybe the firefox has the same bug" is a confusing comment

i got it!it's the scim bug!

after i kill the scim ,everything is working good!

killall scim

Yeah, I've heard (and to some extent, experienced) similar things in Debian as well. Although I can never reliably reproduce it.

Need more information about the scim setting, such as the verion of scim (1.4.6-1ubuntu2?), GTK_IM_MODULE setting (xim, scim, or scim-bridge?), on-the-spot or over-the-spot, etc.

Maybe. Please attach your /etc/scim/config and ~/.scim/config files.

I suspect this is due to "/FrontEnd/X11/Dynamic = false" setting.

yes,i try to change /FrontEnd/X11/Dynamic = true,the bug fiexed again(GTK_IM_MODULE=xim).
