Bug Description

Binary package hint: saods9

After installing with apt-get, the main executable 'ds9' will not work. It shows an error message on a Tcl/Tk dependency. Some internal check requires 8.5, but some other one requires 8.4, and it won't work even with both installed. According to DS9 doc, it might need a custom Tcl/Tk build, but I don't know. Anyway, the binary just does not work.

On jaunty but also on karmic.

ds9 does not start. It fails with this message:

version conflict for package "Tcl": have 8.4, need 8.5
couldn't open "/usr/lib/tclIndex": no such file or directory
    while executing
"open [file join $dir tclIndex]"

Please update.

I can confirm this bug, ds9 fresh installed from Synatic on karmic beta does not start. But SAO ds9 5.7 downloaded from the SAO homepage work like a charm.
