Bug Description

Ubuntu Hardu 8.04.4 LTS
2.6.24-27-generic
Xsane version: 0.995
libsane version: 1.0.19-1ubuntu3
scanner: CanoScan LIDE 25

Before the new kernel xsane start and find my scanner within a second

After update to: '2.6.24-27-generic' it takes xsane 9min 34sek to find the scanner and startup. After that it all works well.

It seems like the problem is libsane and / or HAL.

Hope for a solution.

Pleace contact me for further necessarily information.

Tested the scanner (and a USB-microscope) from LiveCD ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.

The xsane respond within a second...

So, from ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, the xsane and the scanner CanoScan LIDE 25 works but not from ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron LTS.

Can anyone, please, tell me if I have to 'upgrade' or if I can do something to speed up the xsane respond in ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron LTS.
