Wen I'am trying to scan with my Epson Perfection 1260/Photo, the Dia-Scanning in feisty does not work. The Light above the Dias does not work (Sorry for my bad English). In edgy it is working.

Try to remove the ppdev module in feisty: 'sudo rmmod ppdev'. It worked for me with an Epson Perfection 1260 (using the plustek backend).
The problem is also affecting the hp3900 backend, with an HP 4070 scanner, see this bug report:

You may have the same issue as me - It appears to be either that warmup-time (can be changed in standard-options screen in Xsane) is incorrectly set to automatic, or automatic warmup time is broken in the current version.

Setting warmup-time to anything other than -1 fixes this issue (at least for me)

I've now found, if you wait a bit the scanner will kick into action. At least mine did anyway.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 alpha?
