Samba4 was a nightmare for the non-domained user and it still is. Two Ubuntu re-builds later this time, I finally got it limpingly working (I think).

Let's start, out of the box, with:

/var/lib/dpkg/info/samba4.postinst: 14: /var/lib/dpkg/info/samba4.postinst: /usr/share/samba/setoption.pl: Permission denied

on a brand new build of Precise.

After I fixed the perms, I fooled around for another day (that included desperate web searches) until something finally took that didn't break on running the configuration setup.

Where should I start with the rest of the "further information"?
