Samba failed to install when upgrading to 11.10

After completion of the upgrade, reinstalled samba through Synaptic. Installation completed successfully and resources shared through Samba (aka printer) can be used by windows platforms.

This therefore appears to be some funky transient issue associated with the upgrade process, not Samba itself.
