ntlm_auth fails to use cached credentials

Bug Description

When a user is authenticated against an AD server it is supposed to be able to use Windows Integrate Authentication for login on NTLM based websites. This means that the user won't be prompted for a password on such sites since the cached credentials can be used.

On Linux this is achieved by using the ntlm_auth command which is broken on winbind from samba 3.4. There is an upstream bug report and official patch for samba 3.5 here:

https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7589

If possible this should be backported to 10.04 LTS.

Thanks for the bug report.

Before this can proceed to be resolved in Lucid, it needs to be confirmed to be resolved in the Oneiric version.

Thanks.

I don't see this making it to 10.04 at this point. Do you still need it there?
