Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
Acer laptop running 6.06; run
gksu 'update-manager -c -d'
process halts with popup window
"Could not install '/var/cache/
The upgrade aborts now. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 102"
Will attach files as secnodary process as text editor now crashes!

I think that I fixed this by:
cd /etc/rc2.d
rm S91samba
ln -s ../init.d/samba S91samba
then
apt-get install -f
works. Can't remember how or why this works but then you probably know why better than I do.
