windows clients unable to connect to samba after KB2536276

After installing the windows security update KB2536276 some of my windows clients were unable to connect to a samba server. This is a known issue described here:

I have applied the patch and rebuilt the samba .deb package and it solved the issue, but it would be nice to have the patch applied to forthcoming samba releases.

Thanks for the bug report, confirming and marking medium as it is confirmed upstream and by Microsoft; and there seems to be a valid work around.
