Bug Description
1) In Ubuntu 9.04 ...
2) while updating to samba-common 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3.3 ...
3) I had non-conflicting changes in smb.conf, after viewing the diff tried an experimental 3 way merge, and expected it to merge the changes silently, open a merge tool or fail and return to the screen where another handling strategy could be selected.
4) But it crashed immediately after confirming (with the next/forward button). The rest of the update process completed (successfully as far as I can tell).

Reviewing the merge result, I discovered there was a merge conflict detected within my local changes - unsure why that happended, but merging should not fail silently anyway.
