Samba crash, no /etc/samba directory, happened without reason, all of sudden, purge / reinstall doesnt work

--purge to remove entire samba doesnt solve the issue
reinstalling samba doesnt solve the issue

Not replacing deleted config file /etc/samba/smb.conf

chmod: cannot access `/etc/samba/smb.conf': No such file or directory
