Bug Description
Binary package hint: samba
When accessing printing properties for some drivers (Xerox and HP Designjet) the load on the CPU goes way up (90%). There is a latency of 30 to 60 seconds during this time. Other drivers (Ricoh) do not exhibit this behaviour.
This has been observed on versions of Samba <= 3.0.28 .

Peter,
We had discussed this on IRC and it appeared this might be the same as upstream bug https:/ /bugzilla. samba.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 5372; but a closer examination shows that the upstream fix is only for the "Printers and Faxes" page, not the property pages for individual printers. So I'm afraid I have to conclude that this is not the same bug,
I also can't find any other bugs referenced in the Samba 3.0.x changelogs that would fit this description, so I'm afraid we don't have an SRU candidate here at this point. I can try to track this down in the Samba 3.0/3.2 commit history later, but a concrete pointer from upstream would be helpful.
