Bug Description

Hello,

I can't print with the printer after updating to samba 2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu0.21.04.2. But when I downgrade via 'sudo apt install {smbclient,samba-common,samba-libs,libwbclient0,libsmbclient,python3-samba,samba-common-bin,samba-dsdb-modules}=2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu0.21.04.1' it works without issues.
The USB printer is shared via Windows 10 device share (SMB) on the network.

Thanks in advance.

Same here (with HP LJ P1102 as network printer), LInux Mint 20 Ulyana. Downgrading SMB works (thanks OP for the tip).

Thank you for taking the time to report the bug and make Ubuntu better.

The latest version of samba in Focal (2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu0.21.04.2) was uploaded exactly because of a printing issue related to the Windows 2021-10 Monthly Rollup patch. You can see more details about the issue in the bug #1951490.

We were definitely not expecting a regression to happen with that update, though. Could you please provide more information regarding the problems you're experiencing? It would be great if you could attach some of the log files generated by samba before and after upgrading the package to the latest version.

Thanks in advance.

I've added a task for Focal, but if this proves to be a real bug we might need to add tasks for the other series targeted by the initial bug (I/J/K).
