Was having problems sharing folders on my Ubuntu box with both another Ubuntu 18.04 box and a Windows 7 box. Kept getting error from Samba so attempted to re-install.

The logs confirm that samba failed to start, but not why. There is also no config file attached to this report, so we can't say if it's a syntax error there.
Please attach the log files from /var/log/samba/log* and the configuration file from /etc/samba/ smb.conf.
