Hello and thank you for filing this bug!

I am unsure of what exactly happened in your case, though?

You were doing something else and accidentally installed a firmware package and broke your wifi?

Job for smbd.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status smbd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

If you could provide the above, that would help, but I'm guessing what happened was that your wifi was broken and samba depends on the network connectivity?

Also, just FYI: Uname: Linux 3.13.0-93-generic i686 is not a 16.04 kernel, you are running a 14.04.1 kernel (and should not be).

Thanks for the report but I don't undersantd anything. I just tiped a wrong
command and something happened, but hopefully it will have no consecuences.
What should I do in regards of the kerne l not being 16.04 despite that's
is showing everywere in the computer? How do I share the "systemctl status
smbd.service" and "journalctl -xe". I'm too lost here. Lets do a
re-installment of ubuntu and see if everything works fine with the wifi.
Thanks for your support, but I don't know the basics here to help fix the
bug.
