[Dapper] Segfault in Samba

Binary package hint: samba

The machine is AMD64 running Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. It's configured as a domain member in our Windows Active Directory Domain. It's configured as a print server. It's using CUPS as it's printer backend. The backtrace from the samba panic action script appears to be printer related. The printer mentioned in the backtrace (lrcpr01) is a Lanier 5518 Photocopier. It natively supports Postscript and this is how Windows clients and CUPS transfer print jobs to it.

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for pid 24902 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 122130 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
