Please stop with the automated irrelevant corporate bot answers. Nothing in the link you provided states what logs you expect me to provide.

Normal ping not using Samba works for you? If not, it may be a DNS problem.

We are unable to determine the exact problem without more details. We need logs of the problem you have with Samba, what hostname are you trying to ping and what error are you having (timeouts, host not recognized, etc...).
Log details of Samba, or logs of a terminal showing your problem will be fine.
Please send more details about it in order to help you with that problem.

There are over 20 files in /var/log/samba/. Do you want me to attach all of them?

Can you check the content of /etc/nsswitch.conf?
It should contain something like:

hosts: files dns mdns wins

Please check it and retry.
