Bug Description

External subtitles do not work with LG Smart TV

miniDLNA supports srt files so you don't have to implement something else, but... Ubuntu 19.10 has built-in DLNA/UPnP AV services offered by rygel package. It can be easily enabled via System Settings utility. It would be great to solve this problem because users would not have to install other software.

I build rygel from the most recent code on https://github.com/GNOME/rygel.
I can confirm that external subtitles (separate .srt files) now work on LG TV.
Thanks, great job Jens Georg!
