I don't know if the module is really loaded. I attach the output of 'lsmod'.

2. output of 'dkms status'

Does the module load after disabling secure boot?

When installing DKMS, Ubuntu prompt you that it will be creating a new Machine-Owner key for you, and the key will be enrolled in your next reboot. Do you see that happen when you install the dkms package?

What commands should I do?

Anthony Wong (anthonywong) wrote :

You don't need to do anything to trigger the key generation and enrollment, everything should be automatic and you will be prompted for what to do when the DKMS package is installed.

I am going to attach some photos for you to see what should happen.

How did you install this DKMS package?

1° Open 'synaptic'
2° Click 'Settings'
3° Click 'Repositories'
4° Click 'Additional Drivers'
5° Click 'Using DKMS source...'

A window did not appear requesting data as in its previous photos.

I suspect you have somehow missed the key enrollment step, as show in

Can you turn on secure boot again, then run:
sudo mokutil --import /var/lib/shim-signed/mok/MOK.der

Follow the instructions on screen. When you reboot again, just before loading GRUB, shim will show a blue screen, select “Enroll MOK” and follow the menus to finish the enrolling process. You will be asked for the password you typed in earlier when running mokutil.

After that, see if rtl8821ce is shown in lsmod.
