you can find drivers for Ubuntu if you Google the correct information, most do work with instructions...

I have used the drivers in the link below and they do work without any need to modify the file (as described on the page)

I can confirm that the instructions at http://wiki.beyondlogic.org/index.php?title=TPLINK_Archer_T4U_RTL8812au_Linux_Drivers produce a usable rtl8812au.ko under both the 4.8.0-22-generic and 4.8.0-32-generic x86_64 kernels.
