machine still boots ok...

I found and tried running the rsyslog.postinst script from a command window
sudo ./rsyslog.postinst configure

message was
start : job is already running : rsyslog
 invoke-rc.d: initscript rsyslog action "start" failed

Not sure if this was the same error that occurred during the update.
