Bug Description
The default run file location is /var/run/
I put commands to create the directory in /etc/rc.local but there's probably a more elegant solution.

Hello,
The default configuration should be /var/run/ rsnapshot. pid (see http:// sources. debian. net/src/ rsnapshot/ 1.3.1-4/ rsnapshot. conf.default. in/#L131), is it a custom configuration on your setup ?
Anyway, as rsnapshot is not really a daemon (launched by cron), if the pid don't exist and if the user running rsnapshot can write, the file is re-created. The pid file is created to ensure that it only run once at a time as a lockfile.
