conversation scrollbar is wonky

if you manage to get enough text in a conversation window to get a scrollbar, if you try to grab the scrollbar, and drag it, it moves *backwards*, and nowhere near the amount it should move.

this happens on both windows 10(?) and ubuntu artful (+ gnome/weyland)
