rhythmbox fails silently when faced with the task of ripping a scratched CD. It does nothing but sits there constantly trying to read a scratched second from the CD. Most CD players would simply insert a second of silence or cut out that part. Warning the user that this was done would be helpful. In the screenshots below you will see that 1h and 10m have passed and rhythmbox is still trying to rip the same second on the same file.
