Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

The search in the library i don`t know how to call it ... the one that is similar to the one in nautilus which starts when you type is finding matches in the album column but not in the title column as it did before . I really hope this ain`t intentional and would like to know if it`s able to fix it.

Thank you

Yes it is reproducible .... because it just doesn`t work as it should be.
Here is a video of it in action.

I mean it is working but not as it did in lucid and karmic or jaunty .... now it matches only albums not song titles or fillenames i don`t know what it matched before but it was just great ... really easy way to find songs but now you can't find nothing.

this is not the search bar. it just matches the characters in every entry.
either its album, artist etc. the real search is a little above the track
list. I'd be tempted to mark this bug as invalid but if you dont agree you
can report this problem to the developers of rhythmbox with the attached
video. you can report bugs to rhythmbox developers by following these
instructions: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME

Oh man I know it`s not the real search .... i said from the start that i don`t know how to call it .... but anyway it doesn't work as it should.

I guess i`l have to report upstream maybe it`s their mistake :P

I have the same issue on Maverick. However, the new behavior is more complex than previous versions.
Instead of always matching (or searching, or whatever it is called) by the tile, it is now searching in whatever column the list is sorted by. Valentin, since you were sorting by album, it was matching in the album column. If you sort by title, it will work as before.

I wish we had an option to pick in which column it would match.

oook..... And that is supposed to be an improvement? I think it is broken because i have tracks with unknown album , artist , genre , and if i sort by title the library is a mess ... and then if i sort by album or artist how am i going to find the track that i aim for?
