Bug Description

I have installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. So far, I am impressed! It can:

1. Recognize iPod touch out of the box and mount it.
2. Open Rhythmbox, which also recognizes it
3. Play files on the iPod
4. Transfer files to the iPod

But after transferring, I waited at least 10 minutes and the files never 'synced'. How long does it take? Why is syncing so spontaneous? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

In gnome bugzilla Christophe Fergeau said:

"I suspect you don't have an iTunes_Control/Device/ directory on your iPod, this
issue is fixed in libgpod 0.7.93"

Could you confirm you have this directory?

Thanks!

Angel Abad:

You are absolutely correct, I do not have that directory.

When I try and create a folder, it is immediately deleted for some reason. It appears this way at least, because I will create the directory named "Device" and then refresh, and it is no longer there.

How would I go about updating libgpod through apt?

Thank you!

Sorry to double post but I couldn't find a way to edit.

I looked a little more in depth and I noticed two things:

1. I am currently using 0.7.93

2. Do you mean the iPod/Device folder or the iPod/iTunes_Control/Device Folder? Because I DO have the iPod/Device folder.

Thanks again.

Please could somebody confirm if this behaviour is already fixed in Ubuntu Maverick? Thanks
