Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Ubuntu 8.04
Rbox V 0.11.5 0ubuntu8
from syslog: pulseaudio[6257]: module-alsa-sink.c: Error opening PCM device front:0: Device or resource busy

I expected to hear music and see the bar move to the right. Neither happened.
The program sat there like a lox.

That's probably a pulseaudio issue and not rhythmbox fault, please test the same on Lucid and comment back, thanks.

michtom,

Thank you for your interest in helping Ubuntu. Lucid (the complete name is Lucid Lynx) is the code name given to the latest version of Ubuntu Linux (version 10.04) which is still in development at the moment.

What Pedro is asking you to do, provided you feel comfortable with it, is to update your system to run the latest development version of Ubuntu 10.04 and then use Rhythmbox to see if the bug still exists.

You can find cd images of Lucid here: http://releases.ubuntu.com/10.04/
