Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I get this error for all my CDs trying to transfer to disk. It occurs for each track so you have to click through the message as many times as there are tracks on the CD.

"Error transferring track : Unable to locate encoding profile for mime-type"

Sound-juicer (2.28.0) works fine in transferring the same CDs to the same destination.
The same error occurs for all types of different CDs.
I am transferring straight from CD to a NAS drive if that makes any difference. Sound-juicer works fine to the same NAS drive.
This is my first bug report to this forum. I pressed the 'report a problem' button so its telling me it will attach all the sys info needed.
Thanks.

could you run rhythmbox as : rhythmbox --debug &> rhythmbox-debug.txt ; reproduce the issue and attach that resulting file to the report? Thanks in advance.

Here is the debug trace attached as requested. Thanks a lot for looking at this!

I started rhythmbox, inserted a CD and it did start to copy to my library ok. Then I pressed the eject button and it is understandable that the error "Error transferring track" occurs for the remaining tracks (although not clean) since the CD is no longer in the drive. That is not the real problem problem. I then continued to insert the CD and try again. This time rhythmbox always gives the "error transferring track" error even though the CD is in the drive and it had displayed the track information ok. I repeated this again to show the app is now in a state where it always gives this error.
When I was transferring quite a few CDs I noticed that rythmbox worked for 1 or 2 CDs but then started to give this error for all CDs after that.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs relevant for this particular issue.

I don't know how to test the current Ubuntu development version. If I
find out how to install it, and do that, how would I roll back if
something went wrong in an unrelated area (e.g. email, my other software)
? I completely depend on Ubuntu at home for everything. The whole family
do.

I have Update Manager set to install all critical updates automatically,
and I update everything recommended every couple of weeks. Is this not
enough ? Once the update has come through, and you let me know, I'm
happy to retest and update the bug accordingly. Is that ok?
