Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

A FLAC image (an entire CD ripped to one single .flac file) with embedded cuesheet is treated as one long audio-file by Rhythmbox 0.12.0.
Rhythmbox should read the embedded cuesheet and present the FLAC image as an album of songs.

Package: rhythmbox 0.12.0-0ubuntu4
Release: Ubuntu 9.04 (64bit)

In case it's relevant, the FLAC images are created using ABCDE with the command
> abcde -1 -o flac -a default,cue

Thank you for your bug report. The ubuntu team doesn't have the ressources to work on this specific issue but it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We have a new rhythmbox version in Lucid. If you could test this bug in the new version, this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs relevant for this particular issue so it can be reported to the developers of the software.

I'm sorry it's taken me a few days to answer you on this. I had to
borrow a machine to do the testing on. (I don't want to use my own
laptop for testing, as I need it in my work almost 24/7.)

The problem is the same in Ubuntu 10.04 (32 bit version at least.)
Rythmbox regards the FLAC image as one long track, and is not able to
utilise the embedded information to jump from track to track within
the FLAC image.
I honestly don't know what log -if any- to send you. In part I'm not
that well versed in the file structure (yet, but working on it) and in
part I seriously doubt Rythmbox will have reported anything, as it
thinks this is a normal FLAC track.

Let me know if there are mors tests you want done.

Kind regards,
Bjørn Ingmar Berg

It will be great if Rhythmbox could handle cuesheets and show the tracks of a big flac image separately in the media library. Indeed this is the only feature that I really missed.
Thanks and keep the good working.
