Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I play an album with rhythmbox, it stops playing after 1 or 2 tracks without reason and if I try to select another track after that it doesn't respond anymore. I have to terminate the application and restart it.
For information, all my music is in wavpack and crossfading is enabled.
Also I'm using rhythmbox 0.12.0-0ubuntu4 on Jaunty.

thank you for your bug report, could you run rhythmbox --debug and see if there is any error when getting the issue?

Also rhythmbox seems to always stop at the end of a track and for the same album it doesn't always stop at the same track.
I've attached the last lines of the output of rhythmbox --debug below.
I think the revelant line is:
"(13:40:14) [0x873d408] [stop_sink] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:2923: stopping sink"

By any progress you mean if there's a fix somewhere? well no, but you can try to ping the upstream maintainers about it.

I've been having this too. The effect seems to be that the music stops playing.

The console says:
(rhythmbox:6315): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_str_has_prefix: assertion `str != NULL' failed

when this happens.

I'm experiencing this as well, with "GLib-CRITICAL **: g_str_has_prefix: assertion `str != NULL' failed" on the terminal.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

The upstream bug has moved to
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/rhythmbox/issues/737
but has seen no activity in recent years.

If this is still an issue using a maintained version of Ubuntu then please let us know otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

This issue has sat incomplete for more than 60 days now and as per comment #16 the upstream report has seen no activity for some time.

I'm closing this report as "Invalid". Please feel free to re-open if this is still an issue when using a currently supported release of Ubuntu and rhythmbox. Thank you.
