Volume hotkeys take a long time to react with Rhythmbox

Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When using the volume hotkeys with rhythmbox, it takes a long time for the application to first become gray and then the notifcation to appear. This can be confirmed on a Eee 701SD and a 900.

Also note this doesn't happen in other application such as Totem, so this bug is being assigned to the rhythmbox package.

Thank you for your bug report. However, it isn't completely clear what problem you're describing. Firstly, the volume hotkeys have nothing to do with Rhythmbox AFAIK. If the issue is with the delay between pressing the hotkey and the notification appearing, then that's likely a gnome-settings-daemon or notify-osd bug, not a Rhythmbox bug. Or is there a delay between pressing the key and the volume actually changing? What do you mean by "it takes a long time for the application to first become gray and then the notifcation to appear"?

If the problem is a delay in the notification appearing, then that's likely bug 344772

Could you try with the latest kernel? There was a kernel update improving graphics performance significantly and it might explain the delay.
