Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When Rythmbox volume slider is set to maximum volume (top), the sound becomes distorted, crackling and poppling. Looks like internal sound over amplification. To listen to music normally, i must lover Rythmox volume slider bit down.

Thank you for your bug. Looks like saturation from your audiocard, not a bug

I have exact the same problem with Rhythmbox 0.11.2, and I must put the Rhythmbox volumen to 50%.

I think it is the same problem there http://<email address hidden>/msg04056.html

With other player there isn't this "distortion" or what it is. It sounds like the speakers were damage, buy with Exaile, Mplayer, Banshee and Rhythmbox there is no problem.

It comes when the song has very high tones. So I think thats Rhythmbox problem, not from the audiocard.

If you need any log please tell me how I get it and I will post it.

i have an exact issue. To say it's oversaturation of the card's electronics i find hard to believe. This has only ever happened in one distro and one edition. Gutsy. Etch did it for a while until i removed a codec (gstreamer-fluendo-mp3...)

bug #127593

Is specifically referring to Ogg file formats. I receive the same issues in mp3. Flac is fine. I doubt rhythmbox is the cause. Based on my previous experience with gstreamer i'd know where i'd put my money
