Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Seriously.

I need to be able to listen to an entire album, followed by another random entire album.

Foobar2000 does this amazingly well (even lets you define what constitutes an album).

This can be done in

* Banshee (Now Playing > From Music > By Album)
* Songbird (With the Category Shuffle addon)
* Amarok (Shuffle by album as far as I can remember)
* Quod libet (Shuffle by album)
* Exaile (I think it is there ...)

What I would like to see is

* a button to replace the current play queue with a randomly selected album
* a button to add a randomly selected album to the end of the play queue
* a button that presents an option of an album to queue up, but you can keep clicking it until you agree on the randomly selected album and then it adds that to the play queue.

I think the last option could incorporate the other two. For example a dialog could come up with a randomly selected album (including artwork, artist, album, number of tracks, total time, average rating). This has four buttons: Previous, Next, Add to Queue, Play now (replaces current queue).

Hey,
try this plugin http://sites.google.com/site/trw5565/random-album-playback, I guess that it fixes the problem.

How do you get it to display in the Plugins list? I extracted to
~/.gconf/apps/rhythmbox/plugins/ but it's not there
