Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Since the RhythmBox interface seems to mimic iTunes and the "Copy to Library" button on iTunes rips a CD onto the computer, I'd imagine RhythmBox is supposed to do the same thing. I've tried it with two CD's (Ganging Up on the Sun and Satellite: EP), neither worked. I'd imagine there is something "special" about my configuration such that this doesn't work for me, as I can't imagine it is completely broken for everyone.

Thank you for your bug. Could you run "rhythmbox -d" and not if there is any error to the log?

no, looks like you had already a rhythmbox instance running, could you start a new one this way?

Sorry about that. Here's my output. Quite large, but the error is a few pages before the very end of it.

(rhythmbox:6167): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: RBLibrarySource impl_paste called when gconf keys unset

(over and over again, since I pressed the button several times)

do you have a library directory selected in the preferences dialog?

Thanks for your help, that fixed it. I would have thought a message box would pop up to tell me that was the problem. Would this be an appropriate usability request?

the request is correct, there is already bug #78431 open though, marking this one duplicate
