Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

After installing Feisty, I connected my iPod mini with the intent of synchronizing my song library as I do in iTunes.
Upon connecting my iPod, rhythmbox appeared. It will read my iPod's songs, but will not write songs to the iPod.
I am aware that this is the current limitation of rhythmbox, but it seems that this should be a priority for the next release. Most
users would expect that iPod support would entail synchronization and copying songs to the iPod, and not simply read support.
If rhythmbox is never going to have iPod write support, it seems like switching to another media player for the Ubuntu default install
(such as banshee) or preconfiguring gtkpod to work with the rhythmbox library would be worth considering.

Will this be fixed?

Maybe an easy to use plug-in. Some thing that says "I see you have an Apple Ipod would you like to install community maintained software not maintained by ubuntu? This will allow you to sync your music, video, and podcasts from rhythmbox to your ipod." Click yes to install community maintained software enabling ipod syncing.
