Inconsistencies in UI when seaching/downloading podcasts

On a clean rhythmbox, go to podcasts and paste in the url of a podcast then hit 'search'.
Assuming the URL is good and the show has episodes you'll see a list of episodes in the lower part of the screen (pic rb1.png)
Click subscribe
The list of episodes disappears (pic rb2.png)
The latest episode starts downloading.
Click on Podcasts -> New downloads
See the single episode has downloaded (pic rb3.png)

Note that navigating around the 'podcasts' area never shows the full list of past episodes from which you can selectively download (previous RB did let you do this). (pic rb4.png)

Close and re-open RB and find the full list of episodes _does_ now appear in the "Podcasts" view. (pic rb5.png)

So, rb should always show previous episodes for a feed in the "Podcasts" view, but doesn't.
