Bug Description

I discovered a bug where Rhythmbox was not playing a radio stream (.m3u file). When trying to add the radio station URL to Rhythmbox, it crashed. I'll use this apport report to post both bugs as I assume they are related.

To reproduce radio stream not playing:

- Go to http://radio.rinse.fm/ and open the file with Rhythmbox (or save to pc and open)

Result: Rhythmbox opens but does not play stream.

To reproduce crash:

- Open Rhythmbox, Click Menu > New Internet Radio Station > Paste: http://radio.rinse.fm/
- Go to the Radio tab on the left.
- Click on Genre: Unknown
- Double click http://radio.rinse.fm/

Result: Rhythmbox closes/crashes

Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still

I've changed the status from Invalid back to new.

Because I'm running the latest ubuntu updates and have also run 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade' and it didn't update anything.

How do I update those packages then?

Could someone see if they can still reproduce

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
