Bug Description

Binary package hint: rezound

rezound doesn't work with ALSA: oss and jack audio methods are available only. I think the app is built incorrectly. Up to date Kubuntu 9.10 is in use.

Can I have any hope the problem will be resolved? Last one is propagated to Lucid! And oss output can not be used with rezound also:

rezound --audio-method=oss
using path '/usr/share/rezound' for share data directory
Error occurred while initializing audio output method 'oss' -- virtual void COSSSoundPlayer::initialize() -- error setting the format -- Operation not permitted

It's really makes the app unusable.

What is that additional information I must supply to make the issue more attractable for bug-hunters? :-)

This is a result of non-bug #579300, which was "fixed" in maverick thereby breaking a load of audio packages.

For rezound there is a workaround_ use jack.

First install the package qjackctl

then launch Applications->Sound&Video->QjackCtl
hit its "Start" button
now launch Applications->Sound&Video->Rezound
