Bug Description

No Menu available/visible in revelation nor in the global menubar.

This problem appears on my notebook with 11.10 (fresh install)
On my desktop PC, with ubuntu 11.10 (dist-upgraded from 11.04) it works.

did not succeed by deinstalling all the appmenu packages to disable global menubar as suggested elsewhere; reinstalled them all so it now shows:
dpkg --get-selections |grep appmen
appmenu-gtk install
appmenu-gtk3 install
appmenu-qt install
indicator-appmenu install
indicator-appmenu-gtk2 install
indicator-appmenu-tools install

Since a long list of users have subscribed to this bug, we obviously need someone to fix it.
Unfortunately revelation hasn't been developed since a long time.
There doesn't seem to be any alternative Gnome based password manager (besides Gnome keyring, which is a different business) so it would be great if someone could update revelation to the latest gtk version or whatever needs to be done!

Changed in revelation (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Mikkel has collected a couple of fixes and released 0.4.12, see http://revelation.olasagasti.info/. Maybe it's already fixed, also there is a bugtracker available there.

I have prepared a 0.4.12 package for Debian, but some patches no longer apply cleanly, see new branch:

  git clone git://bc-bd.org/revelation.git

and I am waiting on feedback from upstream, who is busy atm.

Since I deleted the revelation config file it worked again.

Here, the file is located in:
 .gnome2/revelation

the content only has one line.
Dock=searchbar\\0,2,0,0\\Toolbar\\0,1,0,0\\Menubar\\0,0,0,0

Try to delete the file and restart the application.
If you dont find the file at that location, try to search in a differen gnome apps config dir.
good luck!
