Bug Description

Binary package hint: desktop-effects

desktop-effects "fails" here, saying:
{{{
Your /etc/x11/xorg.conf has been manually changed. Sorry, restricted-manager cannot be used with customized configurations.

Call "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg"to switch back to automatic configuration handling.
}}}

After clicking close, there's another popup saying:
{{{
Please run "desktop effects" again after restarting the computer, when the new graphics driver is active.
}}}

IMHO this is confusing and makes no sense - the first error should cause it to exit without an additional popups.
