Bug Description

New install from daily build 25-Sep-2007.

On a new install the restricted drivers manager pops up before a apt-get update is done.
It results in the following error message when trying to enable the driver:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
The software source for the package

nvidia-glx-new

is not enabled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The error message is correct but it should not behave this way. Confusing for beginners.

Thanks,

Nicklas Svanteson

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in restricted-manager

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the changes you are requesting aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum. [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good start for determining which mailing list to use.

Yes, I agree, it's not a bug.

I have posted a message in Ubuntu-devel-discuss.

Thanks
