Bug Description

Binary package hint: restricted-manager

Restricted Manager (KDE and GNOME) shows a lirc_gpio driver with no description. It affects all systems, even those that do not have any IR devices. The presence of the driver in the Restricted Modules list should not cause any crashes or other issues.

Perhaps I can just add to this bug that the Restricted Driver Manager doesn't have any description either of this driver. So something like calling it "Linux Infrared Remote Control driver" (the long version of lirc) would be better.

Thanks to everyone who reported or confirmed this bug or any of the duplicates. Accroding to Martin Pitt (the maintainer of Restricted Manager) it is a kernel bug and it is being worked on, so there is no need to report any more data about this bug.
