Bug Description
Binary package hint: resolvconf
The init script of resolvconf requests that the script is run before networking and ifupdown are started. It doesn't look like there is anything enforcing that condition in the upstart environment.
The result is that the resolvconf startup script will erase the DNS entries for dhcp obtain DNS addresses on a server - occasionally with dhclient3. Almost all the time with udhcpc.
This is on lucid server.

A new Ubuntu resolvconf package has been prepared by the Debian maintainers which we hope will fix this bug.
I ask you to test this new package before we upload it to the Ubuntu repos.
Please install the resolvconf package from ppa:jdthood/ resolvconf (https:/ /launchpad. net/~jdthood/ +archive/ resolvconf) and let me know whether or not you have any problems with it.
