Remmina presents black screen when using as VNC client

When connecting to another Ubuntu machine (via VNC), Remmina connects and I can control the remote machine, but my client displays just a black screen and I'm unable to see anything.

Not sure if this is relevant, but the remote box is actually a VirtualBox install of Ubuntu on the same machine.

Sam Ulick, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Raring reached EOL on January 27, 2014.

Is this an issue on a supported release? If so, please execute the following via a terminal as it will gather necessary debugging information:
apport-collect 1226842

As well, please provide click-for-click steps to reproduce this problem, as well as the OS you were trying to remote into.
