Distribution upgrade crashes

I followed the upgrade instruction.
I runned kdesudo "adept_manager --dist-upgrade-devel".
After I have choose:
- distribution upgrade
- in the upgrade wizard: "next", "next", "end"
A little windows starts with title (in italian) "Avanzamento distribuzione" (I think "Distribution upgrade" in english) and after "Preparazione all'avanzamento di versione" ("Starting upgrade version"), it disappears.

My distribution is Kubuntu Hardy 8.04.1

I'm experiencing the same problem. My main.log is identical to Sergio's.
I'm on the latest Kubuntu Hardy KDE4 Remix

I had a similar problem during update from Hardy(8.04) to intrepid (8.10)
system is remix of Hardy(8.04) with Kde 4.1.2 x86 system

Same problem for me, but I don't even get to the point where Sergio gets....
Adept_manager crashes on the first "next" click.
I attach debug info from the crash window and the console output.

Looking at the attachments in this bug report, I noticed that "/var/log/dist-upgrade" was flagged as a patch. A patch contains changes to an Ubuntu package that will resolve a bug, however that attachment doesn't appear to be one. Subsequently I've unchecked the patch flag for it. In the future keep in mind the definition of a patch. Thanks!
