Bug Description

I downloaded Red Eclipse 1.4-5 from the software center. When the game launches and goes to menu, selecting online play brings up a notice. It says that online support for current client (1.4-5) will end in May. Please consider building a package for 1.5.1. There are a few Ubuntu users still using the old client, and the rest of the community, including official servers, use 1.5.1.

Red Eclipse 1.5.1 is currently pending upload to Debian, in time it will be synced to Ubuntu 15.10.

In the meantime, I'd suggest using the 1.5.1 packages provided by PlayDeb.

Thank you, Martin. If anyone is looking for a solution, I can confirm that simply downloading .tar file from http://redeclipse.net/ works for me on Xubuntu 14.04 LTS. Simply run the script "redeclipse.sh" once you extract the file to its separate directory.
