Bug Description

In the latest Unity8 release while in a desktop session, no scopes are being shown in the Dash.

The favorite-scopes gconf key shows what is expected:
$ gsettings get com.canonical.Unity.Dash favorite-scopes
['scope://clickscope', 'scope://musicaggregator', 'scope://videoaggregator']

Can you try updating & upgrading again? Someone else was having problems like yours https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1513852 and says that a dist-upgrade fixed it.

I'm going to assume this is the bug i am seeing and that:
 * It goes away when you close scopes so it restarts itself

If so the bug is already fixed in qtmir (was actually frames not being painted correctly). For some reason latest qtmir has not yet landed into xenial though :/

Changed in unity8 (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
Changed in qtmir (Ubuntu):

i.e. i can't reproduce the bug anymore when using 0.4.6+16.04.20151113-0ubuntu1 of qtmir while the bug is there with 0.4.6+16.04.20151102-0ubuntu1

Yeah, qtmir is still not in xenial for some reason. Where can I get the package?

It has been updated today, can you try with the new version and check if you can still reproduce it?

Ok, update to latest qtmir-desktop and the issue no longer occurs.

Thanks!
